Lisa Farr: Training Coordinator / Community Liaison of the Year

Lisa has been with the SBDC program for over twelve years and continually goes "above and beyond". Many of you in the audience know Lisa well. She was recently acknowledged by the Regional Office for exemplifying the values of Excellence, Service and Innovation.

Time and time again, Lisa has demonstrated her passion for training excellence at the Del Mar College SBDC. Instead of limiting that valuable knowledge and insight to her own 9-county service delivery area, Lisa has repeatedly made a positive impact on the entire 79-county area by mentoring and training new training staff from other SBDCs. In addition, Lisa has even surfaced quality control issues and innovative ideas relating to the Client Activity Tracking System database that improved the software on a national level.

In her quest to provide quality, timely, applicable training topics for small business, Lisa continually forges new partnerships within the community. She also endeavors to locate the best presenters including area leaders and professionals. She keeps in close contact with partner organizations like SCORE, SBA, Chambers of Commerce, EDC's and many others; making frequent referrals and setting up collaborative events. She was the March 2010 recipient of the Del Mar College Circle of Pride Award and the obvious choice for Training Coordinator of the Year.
